Kenji Mizoguchi Sisters of the Gion
Portrays the harsh lives of two poor Kioto's "sisters", struggling geishas who share an apartment. One is traditional and has accepted her life. The other, cold and more modern, takes advantage of men while attempting to escape her fate.
