Bert Appermont Song for Sakiko
Tijdens een verblijf in Tokyo kreeg componist Bert Appermont inspiratie voor het schrijven van "Song for Sakiko". Sakiko betekent 'bloesemkind' en roept een dromerige, poëtische sfeer op. Song for Sakiko begint met een zangerig thema. Deze is gebasserd op een kleine terts die de basis vormt van het werk. Een tweede thema leidt naar een grootse tutti. Hier wordt het beginthema in gewijzigde vorm in majeur gespeeld. Daana deint de muziek uit terwijl beide thema's nog even vaag weerklinken
